HispanicOnline, a Latino Web pioneer, is owned by Hispanic Publishing Associates, which owns HISPANIC Magazine as well as HISPANIC Enterprise Magazine. The mission: To offer more news, resources and entertainment options that are relevant to Latinos than any other site. The content for the website is produced by HispanicOnline's staff as well as freelance writers, wire services, and the staffs of HISPANIC and HISPANIC Enterprise magazines.

The site spotlights features from HISPANIC Magazine, but the bulk of that publication's content is now appearing at www.HispanicMagazine.com. Similarly, HispanicOnline.com includes content from HISPANIC Enterprise Magazine, a business glossy for the Latino entrepreneur co-published by Hispanic Publishing Associates and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which can be accessed more directly and completely at www.Hispanicenterprisemagazine.net

Besides covering the biggest stories of the day impacting Hispanics, the site includes:

Political news, plus opinion columns written from a Hispanic perspective; Coverage of Latinos in arts and entertainment, plus a broad landscape of lifestyle features in fields such as health and fitness, food, and travel. Information for anyone interested in moving ahead in the workplace, in business, or on Wall Street, including: a financial center featuring the latest information on loans, mortgages, bonds, and savings rates; investment advice from Julie Stav, the best-selling Latina investment author; and a career center to help match employers with employees.
Entire channels dedicated to the critical fields of technology and education, with an emphasis on "useful, practical information." Sports, from a unique Hispanic perspective.
Research and resources that Latinos—or anyone who wants to know about the Hispanic community—will find useful, including updated demographics and polling data regarding U.S. Hispanics.
Other services include free websites for registered users, live music and free classified ads.

Advertising/Sponsorship Guidelines

1) The home page and all subsequent pages of HispanicOnline displays our name and logo clearly, in order to clarify who controls the content of the site.

2) All online pages clearly distinguish between editorial and advertising or sponsored content. Ad sections are clearly marked "Special Advertising Section," meaning that all content inside that area is determined by the advertiser. The design and layout of advertising sections is different from HOL's normal layout, design, and style. HOL's name or logo does not appear on any advertisement. Sponsors of sections do not have a say when it comes to content, but they are right to expect that their sponsored sections adhere to their expressed purpose: a finance section should not have entertainment content, for example. If an outside advertiser or organization underwrites a contest featured on our website, the editorial copy must not suggest an endorsement of that advertiser's products or services, unless clearly marked "Special Advertising Section." The contest itself remains under the control of the editors and the sponsoring orgnization may not participate in the contest.

3) Our website's logo is never used in a way that suggests editorial endorsement of any advertiser.

4) Any links that are paid for by advertisers are disclosed to users.

5) To protect our brand, HispanicOnline does not permit our content to be used on an advertiser's site without an explanation of the relationship (e.g., "Reprinted with permission").

6) HispanicOnline respects the privacy of its users. If we collect information about our visitors—whether the data will be disseminated to another party or not—HOL offers users a chance to decline if they choose, through an "opt-out" option.

7) The editor/producer of HispanicOnline has final authority over the editorial content, words and pictures that appear on HOL.
