DEar readers:

For several months we considered changing the name of this magazine to one that would more accurately reflect our business and entrepreneurial oriented content. After deciding on Hispanic Enterprise and receiving great feedback from last issue’s test cover, we have decided to make the change permanent starting with this edition.
The new name more clearly captures our mission of providing Hispanics with insight and perspective on growing and managing businesses and acquiring wealth.
Given that, this issue’s cover story was particularly important. That’s why we chose Maria Contreras-Sweet. Her career and involvement with the Hispanic business community embodies not only Hispanic entrepreneurship, but Hispanic values in her efforts to give back to the community and her perseverance to see through the creation of PROMERICA, a bank that serves and helps the Hispanic business community.
Our annual list of the top 25 franchises for Hispanics (P. 40) shines the spotlight on what may be promising business opportunities for some. Inspiration may comes from our profile of Belinda Guadarrama, another successful woman whose company recently was selected among the contractors a NASA project worth over $5.6 billion (P. 16). We also preview of our upcoming Hispana Leadership Summit which will take place in the beginning of August on page 56.
Our name may have changed, but we are more committed than ever to serving our readers by providing ideas and inspiration, advice for managing and growing every type of business, lessons from experienced professionals, and the tools to help you recognize and face that next business challenge.
We hope you enjoy the issue.

Best regards,
